Half-way Home
Objectives
To provide a short-term half-way home for child cancer patients who need a clean, convenient and comfortable environment for convalescing
Target
Children undergoing bone-marrow/blood stem cell transplantation, intensive chemotherapy or surgery whose home is not suitable for convalescing
Facilities
Fully equipped with basic home appliances, including cooker, refrigerator, hot water supply, furniture, beddings, television, video player/recorder, etc. Patients can check-in only with their personal necessities.
Location
The Foundation currently operates three half-way homes in Pokfulam, Homantin and Shatin
Requirement and Application Procedure
- A guardian is required to live with the patient
- Applications have to be assessed by the social workers of the Patient Care and Community Service Team. Please contact your case worker for enquiries.
- Period of accommodation: 1 month to 3 months
