We deeply value the generosity of our donors. We are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, and accountability in all fundraising activities and financial stewardship.
Donors can expect:
- Respect, honesty, and professionalism in all interactions
- Timely acknowledgment and appropriate recognition of contributions
- Assurance that donations will be used effectively and for their intended purpose
- Access to accurate information about our mission, activities, and financial performance
- Use of Donations
General donations will be:
- Applied to our programs, services or strategic development which are in line with our mission
- Subject to rigorous internal controls and regular audits
We will not accept donations that compromise our mission or values.
- Legal Compliance
We comply fully with the prevailing legislation/best practice governing charities and donations, namely:
- Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap.112), s.88 for tax exemption
- Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Ordinance (Cap. 615), for due diligence re financial transactions, including donations
- Personal Data Protection (Cap. 486), for handling donor information
- Independent Commission Against Corruption’s Best Practice Checklist – Management of Charities & Fundraising, for overall practice
We will not:
- Accept donations suspected to be proceeds of crime
- Facilitate transactions that violate Hong Kong’s laws
- Transparency and Accountability
We pledge to:
- Provide regular updates and audited financial statements
- Deliver impact report upon prior request
- Disclose fundraising costs and administrative expenses
- Maintain open channels for donor feedback and inquiries
- Recognition and Privacy
Donors shall receive an official receipt with donation over HKD100, or an acknowledgement letter with in-kind donation. Donors may be publicly acknowledged unless anonymity is requested. We respect donor privacy and comply with all applicable data protection laws.
