Children always tell their parents what they want to be when they grow up, firemen, policemen, doctors, teachers, nurses...

But when a child with cancer talks about growing up, what does a heartbroken parent say?

Is growing up too much for a child to ask for, particularly when that child has cancer?

That's why, at the Children's Cancer Foundation, we are dedicated to making sure that every child with cancer is given a fighting chance for life.

A child's FIGHT with CANCER is a fight for the whole family

Helping a child fight cancer means helping everyone that suffers.

Parents suffer.

The emotional strain of watching a child's painful fight with cancer has a devastating effect on family life.

Marriages are stretched to breaking point.

The additional financial burden of caring for a sick child can threaten a family's livelihood.

Brothers and sisters suffer.

They suddenly feel left out, confused, misunderstood, and crave their parents' attention.

Normal family life collapses under this kind of pressure.

Now, with the support of the Children's Cancer Foundation, it is an ordeal that a family no longer has to face alone.

No Time to Lose

Cancer doesn't just strike grown-ups.

In Hong Kong, it kills more than five children every month, some even too young to understand their illness.

But childhood cancer does not always end in death.

Thanks to new technology and breakthroughs in cancer treatment, survival rates are higher than ever.

In fact, many of the children and families we help are winning their battle against cancer.

But we still have a long way to go. We need better treatment facilities. We need more comprehensive psychosocial services. We need more research. And we need you.
