PATIENT
SERVICE
Support Groups
Mutual support plays an important role in alleviating
stress. This is provided by a support group programme that offers
an outlet for patients, parents and siblings to meet regularly, share
experiences, express emotions and learn practical coping skills. These
groups address a wide range of issues, from helping parents deal with
specific types of childhood cancer and supporting the needs of adolescent
patients, to a "back-to-school" programme that enlists the
participating of patients' schools.
