| PUBLIC SERVICE Education
The Foundation takes every opportunity to hold or participate in
public exhibitions, displaying a comprehensive set of materials on childhood cancer and
play service.
The Foundation's "Announcement of Public Interest"
(API), aired on local and regional satellite television networks,
has been particularly effective in raising public awareness.
The Foundation has a website on the internet
where detailed description about its services and information on different
types of childhood cancer can be found.
The half-yearly Chinese newsletter, published for the benefit of
the donors, the public and the patients and families, is distributed freely at every
opportunity.
In order to respond effectively to public enquiries about the
many aspects of childhood cancer, all Foundation staff are regularly updated through
courses, conferences and workshops.
The Foundation is continually expanding its resource library of
various educational materials, including books, leaflets and video documentaries, many of
them specially produced, to help the public better understand childhood cancer. This
library is housed at the Family Service Centre.
