| HOSPITAL SERVICE Medical Training and Education
The Foundation sponsors medical staff to receive further training
abroad, and to attend local and overseas seminars and conferences.
The Foundation also bears the cost of replacement nurses when
specialist nurses take leave to attend overseas training courses.
Overseas medical scholars are invited by the Foundation
to present lectures to members of the medical profession specializing
in childhood cancer. This area of work is of vital importance as it
provides a means for local medical staff to keep abreast of all advances
in treatment and medical technology.
Through the two teaching hospitals of Prince
of Wales and Queen Mary, CCF now provides funding for medical personel
from mainland China to receive training in Hong Kong.
The Foundation also funds subscriptions to journals and purchases
books as needed by doctors and nurses. |
