Diagnostic tests
The diagnosis of Langerhans cell histiocytosis is confirmed by tissue biopsy
of the skin or the bone. Biopsy of the lymph glands or the liver may sometimes
be required. The results of blood tests and bone marrow aspiration will indicate
whether or not the bone marrow has been involved, and X-rays of bones and lungs
will show whether these organs are affected.
